I was listening to a radio program last night on KOMO 1000 radio (my local news radio station). There was a program on called “Beyond the Headlines” and it covered the issue of online posting and privacy, as well as identity theft.
For me, I hate publishing my personal information online, so I keep it to a minimum (that’s why I didn’t join Facebook). My name is set to “G. Liu” and I never give out my birthdate. Don’t ask me to do that.
The program told its listeners what to put online and what not to:
- Birthdate (month and day ONLY)
- Social Security Number
- Driver’s license
- Year of Birth
