[MILESTONE] Thought Box hits 50k views!

I may have missed it, but nevertheless, on Friday, September 21, 2012 PST, Thought Box saw it’s 50 thousandth visitor!

This blog has been a tremendous success, and I thank my readers for reading and critiquing my content. When I created this blog on an unassuming May evening back in 2009, I never would have thought that so many people would read it. Now, thanks to various promotions I’ve done on sites such as BlogSurfer and Stumbleupon, this blog racks in an average 41.5 views per day!

In the future, if my personal finances allow it, I will move this blog to deathgleaner.com, a more accessible domain. I still cannot believe it when I go to that site, and it’s STILL open! What nice people we have, to save me a spot!

Blogging may be a huge undertaking for me, but it’s totally worth it seeing how many people come by and read my content. Another HUGE thank you to all my Thought Box readers!

Whoa! How could I have missed it?

Yesterday was my blog’s third birthday. Yet, I did not remember until I got in bed at 10pm last night. What a shame on me.

With that aside, happy slightly-belated birthday to Thought Box! It continues to grow, and I am looking towards moving this blog out of the .wordpress.com domain, onto a hosted domain (namely deathgleaner.com.) This setup will allow for more flexibility on my part, as well as even hosting a Minecraft server on that website (gasp.)

Thank you to all the readers that have been keeping up with this blog! While still small, it continues to grow, and that’s what matters.

“Life is a journey, not a destination”

This post isn’t any ordinary post. It’s the 200th post in Thought Box history.

Way back in May of 2009, I started this blog, very unclear of what to write about. Eventually, I found a niche in the fields of science and technology, which are my two passions. Here’s a timeline of this blog’s milestones:

A graphic representation for those of you visual learners (including me):

Like that quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, this blog will never stop growing. Who knows when No. 500, No. 1000, or even more, will come out?

Then again, I don’t blog because of the milestones. I blog because I love it!

2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 8,400 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Happy 2nd anniversary, Thought Box!

Today, May 30, marks the second anniversary of this blog. I wouldn’t have known and the day would have passed by just normally, but thanks to Google Calendar, the fact that it was already my blog’s 2nd anniversary gave me quite a shock!

I started writing here two years ago, and now this blog has accumulated:

  • 176 posts
  • 22 categories
  • 586 tags, which I desperately need to clean up
  • 313 comments, and best of all, no spam, thanks to Akismet!
